Programming For a Community
The Friday sunset concerts developed quite a following in our inaugural season, the Spam AllStars concert brought 1500+ people and an undocumented number of pets out to the park for a magical evening. Families make the most of the free entertainment with blankets, picnic baskets and a bounce house for the kids.
Bike Miami Days, produced in partnership with the City of Miami and the Mayor's Office, brings thousands of residents to the streets of Downtown for a day of biking, rollerblading or walking, music, safety classes and fun on streets closed to traffic. Miami DDA's involvement with Bike Miami Days is a direct demonstration of the planning initiatives underway for a pedestrian and bike friendly Downtown. Ongoing events like Meet Your Neighbors, produced with Downtown Miami Partnership and Brickell Area Association, introduce new residents to their neighborhood businesses at quarterly networkers and further the building of community.
Grants and Sponsorships
Miami DDA ensures continued programming and events for Downtown through our Special Projects Funding Program. Each fall, community and arts organizations apply for grants to support their projects.
