It's Back! ING Miami Marathon and Half Marathon 2012

Get ready to show off your atheletic abilities and join thousands in this year's ING Miami Marathon and Half Marathon, on January 29, in Downtown Miami. Lots of fun activities for everyone will take place before and during the marathon, so don't miss out. Marathon starts at the AmericanAirlines Arena; 601 Biscayne Blvd., at 6:15 AM and finishes at Bayfront Park; 301 Biscayne Blvd., at 9:30 AM. Nineteenth Annual Miami International Map Fair

This annual event, February 4-5, showcases antique maps, rare books, panoramas and atlases from around the world. Peruse and purchase antique maps from some of the finest map dealers in the world. Proceeds from Map Fair go toward maintaining and improving HistoryMiami exhibitions, educational programming and community outreach programs. Cost: HistoryMiami members: $5; Non-members: $15. Job Opportunity with the Miami DDA - Urban Design & Capital Improvements Coordinator

The Downtown Development Authority of the City of Miami, Florida (Miami DDA) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a coordinator for the strategic implementation, program development, design, planning and research of downtown-focused urban design, planning, transportation and environmental initiatives.

Applications (may include cover letter, resume, selected sample work) are due no later than Tuesday, January 31, 2012, 4:00 P.M., are limited to three (3) pages and must be submitted electronically (3Mb size limit) to hmaravilla@miamidda.com.

The Miami DDA provides grants/funding to special events or projects that take place in Downtown, have an economic impact on the area, and strengthen Downtown Miami’s recognition as a vibrant and exciting destination for residents and visitors.
